MAR ARAGON
(Granada, Spain 1971)

Mar Aragón was born in Motril (Granada), Spain in 1.971, being recognized in 2019 with the Gold Medal of her city, for her important national and international artistic career.

His work is made in large format watercolor, which reaches up to 2 m., not common in this technique. It has a unique stamp with a wide and energetic palette that flows from black to polychrome. He makes use of the figurative and mimics the abstract, offering us an optic of immense spaces and dreamed characters.

His work has been exhibited in the most prestigious International Art Fairs and Galleries around the world: Hong Kong, Monaco, Marbella, Switzerland, Italy, France, Luxembourg, Asia, or Madrid. It is part of the exhibition “Templarios”, in which he shares space with works by Picasso, Tapies or Joan Miró, among other renowned artists.

Mar, at the height of her professional career, has been the guest artist at the International Watercolor Fair of Monza (Italy), the Biennale of Normanni (Italy), the Biennale of Contemporary Art of Beldevere di San Leucio (Italy).

Mar has been recognized by Art International Contemporary magazine as one of the 50 best artists to invest in art. Her works can be found in important collections such as those of the Mayor’s Office of Madrid, Moét Chandon, Hotel Don Pepe Marbella, Casquero-Gherardi, Ojos del Barroco or Johann Graf Novomatic Group.

Mar Aragón has developed in parallel her artistic career as an illustrator, counting in her curriculum with such prestigious collaborations as the discographic work for Luis Santana, the illustrated books of the Centro Artístico de Granada, the different editions of the poster of the Festival Internacional Música Sur, or painting a large format work live during the concert of Carlos de Jacoba and Luis de Rosario in Motril.

In the artist’s own words, “Art is the best bridge to bring us closer and speak the same language that moves us”.
