SUMMARY:[:en]"PAISAJES LICUADOS" EXHIBITION OF MAR ARAGÓN AT THE HISTORICAL-BOTANICAL GARDEN OF MALAGA[:es]"PAISAJES LICUADOS" EXPOSICIÓN DE MAR ARAGÓN EN EL JARDIN HISTÓRICO-BOTÁNICO DE MALAGA[:]
DESCRIPTION:Paisajes Licuados (Liquefied Landscapes) is the new work of visual artist Mar Aragón\, recognized for the personal style of her large-format watercolors. It is an immersive and moving artistic proposal that invites you to immerse yourself in a world of sensations and activates the environmental awareness of those who experience them. Project organized by Vesaniart\, the Friends of the Botanical Garden Association\, the City of Malaga and the Cacao Agency. Curated by Nuria Delgado and Agustín Linares. \nThe work consists of a structure that emulates the decomposition of a natural landscape invaded by iron\, industrial and artificial. A landscape as desolate as it is beautiful\, which raises our environmental awareness as a society. The message is clear: if we do not take care of our environment\, we will end up living in dark and inert landscapes. These spaces are the opposite of the natural fantasy of La Concepción Botanical-Historical Garden\, where the care and protection of plant species is an unquestionable priority. Hence\, going from the lush vegetation of the botanical garden to the apocalyptic liquefied landscapes of Mar Aragón is a contrast that facilitates the understanding of the performance. \nLiquefied Landscapes is a single-color work in watercolor on Saunders paper that is integrated into a mobile structure adapted to the exhibition space. It measures 17 meters wide by 2 meters high\, which highlights the virtuosity of the contemporary artist and her impressive mastery of technique and spatial vision. Mar Aragón acknowledges that “what can be seen in Malaga is the result of a long process of creation\, full of sensitivity and commitment to art” and that “the deployment of means required for a project of this nature\, requires a creative team capable of connecting deeply with the work\, enhancing its power and the creativity of the artista deeply with the work\, enhance its impact and add fundamental ingredients that go beyond the initial idea\, the paper and the brushes”. The objective of the installation transcends the mere transmission of a message\, it seeks to provoke an immersive and sensory experience in visitors. It has a hall before the room where the work is installed\, designed as an introduction\, to enter into context\, get to know the artist\, her vision and her style\, and identify the intentions: to move the observer\, move consciences and activate levers of change in an experiential\, sensory and emotional way\, “through the pinches that contemporary art gives in the soul to those who contemplate it with openness\,” she says. \nThrough her art installation\, Mar Aragón supports the work of the Asociación Amigos del Botánico\, which works for the conservation and dissemination of the natural and cultural heritage of the Botanical-Historical Garden of La Concepción. With her most striking\, monumental and immersive work\, the contemporary artist promotes the visibility of the organization’s cause. \nMar Aragón (Motril\, 1971) is a Spanish contemporary artist\, specialized in large format watercolor. Her work is characterized by the use of monochrome and the exploration of themes such as nature\, memory\, time or identity. She has exhibited her work in numerous national and international galleries and art fairs\, such as Hong Kong\, Monaco\, Mexico City\, Mexico\, Mexico\ninternational art fairs\, such as Hong Kong\, Monaco\, Switzerland\, Italy\, Belgium\, France\, United States\, Luxembourg\, Taiwan\, Madrid\, Barcelona\, Malaga\, Seville\, Toledo or Murcia. She is considered one of the most influential figures in watercolor by the prestigious Accademia Internazionale dell’Acquarello. Currently\, one of his works is in the Mayor’s Office of the Madrid City Hall. \n

SUMMARY:[:en]"Guillermo Tell is Andalusian" exhibition by Daniel Garbade at the ICAM in Geneva\, Switzerland[:es]"Guillermo Tell es Andaluz" exposición de Daniel Garbade en el ICAM de Ginebra\, Suiza[:]
DESCRIPTION:The origin of the word mosaic is found in the Greek word μoυσειoν-oυ (mouseion-ou)\, temple of the muses. The Romans considered that the art of creating mosaics was so exquisite that only the muses or those favored by them could do it.\nIn Al-Andalus\, first the Almoravids\, then the Almohads\, then the Nasrids and in parallel the Mudejars interpreted this Roman heritage\, adapting it to their style\, with mosaics being a fundamental part of their architectural art. \nIn this context of intercultural mosaic and undoubtedly inspired by the muses\, Daniel Garbade’s exhibition project “William Tell is Andalusian” was born for the ICAM in Geneva\, in collaboration with the Spanish gallery Vesaniart. \nGarbade\, born in Switzerland and resident in Spain for more than 30 years\, fuses in this project mythology\, history and iconography of both countries\, adding to the work of ICAM to bring cultures together through art and culture. \nGarbade makes in this exhibition a clear wink to his Swiss origin; using as a reference the traditional Scherenschnitte cut-out silhouettes. With this look he continues the line two years ago\, based on Spanish folkloric iconography to describe contexts of current life. In this exhibition\, the artist combines both Swiss and Spanish folk iconography to describe the mosaic of his life\, which is the fruit of these two cultures\, achieving a striking image\, subtle and complex at the same time. \nIn Garbade’s work there are undoubtedly muses\, as is evidenced by his brilliant artistic career. Garbade’s muses are none other than the human beings that surround him\, with whom he crosses paths and interacts with on a daily basis\, each with their own history\, and who make up the mosaic of our society and of his life and work. \nHis technique always starts with fine line drawings\, clean and direct; to through its multiplication and evolution\, create a mosaic of complex and rich prints\, which allow multiple views from different approaches. With his peculiar and unique way of focusing\, blurring and assembling traces of life and history\, Garbade’s work blurs time and space\, his life and our history. \nFor Garbade\, memories are as precise as legends\, and William Tell and himself\, as Swiss as Spanish\, or Andalusian or al-Andalusian. \nGarbade has participated in Vesaniart’s two previous exhibitions inspired by the Andalusian legacy in Spain: “Descends au Sud: Al-Andalus” at ICAM 2020 and “Baja al Sur” at the Fundación Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo in Seville in 2021; all curated by Nuria Delgado\, like the one presented here. \n

DESCRIPTION:Valeria Pesce was born on the Italian island of Sardinia\, a constant source of inspiration in her work. In her paintings\, plants and abstract water\, where she immerses her famous red fish\, are always the protagonists. \nHis greens coexist sylvanly without any permission\, oxygenating us. His fish\, with archaic and intuitive movements\, float in a liquid sky without gravity\, in an amniotic space where colours are vectors of emotions and feelings. \nPesce often paints in oil on wood\, making the nature of the wood interfere and enrich his painting\, turning the work into a unique and lively piece\, with an exquisite chromatic palette. \nPesce has woven a vine that links her native Sardinia with the Historical Botanical Garden La Concepción in Malaga\, both dreamed and also lived paradises\, where the dream is inexcusably botanical. \nValeria Pesce’s work is in contemporary art collections in Germany\, France\, Switzerland\, Italy\, Spain\, England\, New Zealand\, the United States\, Hong Kong and Switzerland. \nCurators: \nNuria Delgado and Agustín Linares \n  \nDOSSIER  EXHIBITION\nrelacionobras\n\nVIDEO OF THE EXHIBITION\n“SOGNO BOTÁNICO” EXHIBITION OF VALERIA PESCE AT THE BOTANICAL-HISTORICAL GARDEN LA CONCEPCIÓN OF MÁLAGA 1\n\n  \n“SOGNO BOTÁNICO” EXHIBITION OF VALERIA PESCE AT THE BOTANICAL-HISTORICAL GARDEN LA CONCEPCIÓN OF MÁLAGA 2\n\n  \n“SOGNO BOTÁNICO” EXHIBITION OF VALERIA PESCE AT THE BOTANICAL-HISTORICAL GARDEN LA CONCEPCIÓN OF MÁLAGA 3\n\n  \n“SOGNO BOTÁNICO” EXHIBITION OF VALERIA PESCE AT THE BOTANICAL-HISTORICAL GARDEN LA CONCEPCIÓN OF MÁLAGA 4\n\n  \n“SOGNO BOTÁNICO” EXHIBITION OF VALERIA PESCE AT THE BOTANICAL-HISTORICAL GARDEN LA CONCEPCIÓN OF MÁLAGA 5

SUMMARY:[:en]"SELFIES OF THE PAST" EXHIBITION BY DANIEL GARBADE AT THE SAN FELIPE NERI ORATORY IN TOLEDO[:es]"SELFIES DEL PASADO" EXPOSICION DE DANIEL GARBADE EN EL ORATORIO DE SAN FELIPE NERI DE TOLEDO[:]
DESCRIPTION:The exhibition “Selfis of the past” by Daniel Garbade\, closes the inaugural exhibition cycle “Presence and essence” of the San Felipe Neri Oratory\, from September 17 to December 31\, 2022. \nThe oratory of San Felipe Neri is an exceptional setting to move us; an architectural blank canvas\, now desecrated\, where Garbade reflects on time and its capture\, on art as an imperishable presence and essence of its time. \nEl Greco’s “La Trinidad” created for the Santo Domingo de Silos monastery in Toledo and currently in the Prado Museum\, with influences from Michelangelo\, Tintoreto and Dürer\, and which served as inspiration for Picasso’s “El Guernica”; is now also a source of inspiration for Garbade in the show. \nGarbade fragments “La Trinidad” into 15 moving canvases. They are collages of drawings that update the original work\, like his famous Toledo sky now recreated by hundreds of moving planes. The living pieces of the collage come off\, fall to the ground\, escape from the canvas and participate in their time. Thus\, the original work is fragmented to take on a new meaning\, like the fragmented life of the viewer narrated to reconstruct it\, to capture its essence. \nThe exhibition is completed with photographic collages of old objects\, such as mantillas or sabers\, with which the artist challenges us to question that it is not the object but its gaze that makes it current or past. \nGarbade gives us the opportunity to explore the viewer’s current relationship with the work of art\, demanding greater protagonism\, being part of the work\, capturing it by including oneself in it. Selfies are therefore now the tool for contemplating art\, the new way of approaching it. Selfies are the new souvenir of the artistic experience\, and tuning it with filters transforms us into an artist. Selfies as a collage of life\, of emotions\, of kidnapped and diluted time\, where we appropriate everything we desire\, and also art. \nThus\, during the show\, Garbade invites the viewer to take a selfie in front of his work and send it to him\, to create together a new work in real time\, in constant creation and change\, which will be projected in the oratory; being the viewer now\, also creator and protagonist of the exhibited work \nBecause art reinterprets itself over and over again\, with different perspectives typical of its time\, around essential themes to which no creator is alien: time and the essence of our presence in it. \nThe oratory is ESSENCE AND Garbade PRESENCE\, and together they transport us and transcend from the sacred to the profane\, hand in hand with art as necessary spiritual food that transcends its time. \nNuria Delgado\, Curator \nDirector Vesaniart Art Gallery \n  \nVIDEOS OF THE EXHIBITION\n  \n“GARBADE BEFORE HIS WORK 1”\n\n  \n“GARBADE BEFORE HIS WORK 2”\n\n  \n“GARBADE BEFORE HIS WORK 3”

SUMMARY:[:en]"LA AMANTE MECÁNICA" MAR ARAGÓN EXHIBITION IN TOLEDO (SPAIN)[:es]"LA AMANTE MECÁNICA" EXPOSICIÓN DE MAR ARAGÓN EN TOLEDO[:]
DESCRIPTION:When Mar entered the Caves of Hercules\, despite her greetings and smile\, she saw almost no one. She immediately caught a glimpse of a beautiful if somewhat robotic figure\, seducing one of the guests in a corner. \nShe seemed familiar to him but he did not recognize her immediately; only when she moved away from the guest contorting her figure did he recognize her; it was Maria\, the robot protagonist of the movie Metropolis (Fritz Lang\, 1927). \nThe rest of the inauguration watched her without dissimulation\, shamelessly\, crossing paths with her.\nShe was enigmatic\, provocative\, disturbing; she wandered through the halls as if it were her apartment\, with a slight mocking smile. \nHe saw her go down to the basement forbidden to the rest of the guests\, after her a man came down\, later another one and also a woman\, … perhaps it was indeed her private apartment\, metallic noises were heard coming from below\, was the liturgy of love beginning? \nYes\, now I knew\, the futuristic city had extended its tentacles to Toledo\, annexing the caves to become part of it. The goddess of evil\, the erotic doll\, the therapeutic appliance with swaying hips\, inhabited it; receiving her guests in its monumental penumbra. \nMar Aragón\, internationally recognized watercolorist\, did not have her brushes or saunders papers with her\, … but her gaze recorded the whole scene. Now\, with her exhibition “The Mechanical Mistress”\, she has returned to the scene of inspiration\, sharing with all of us what she has experienced\, with a nod to Manga art ( 漫画). \nMar has made a fierce exercise of accommodation to the scene\, moving from the usual large canvases in her\, to a necessarily intimate narrative by erotic; transporting us to the Metropolis universe and the intimacy of the apartment of “The Mechanical Mistress”. \nThe exhibition\, organized by the Consorcio de la Ciudad de Toledo and Vesaniart Art Gallery\, can be visited from June 10 to July 3\, from Tuesday to Saturday from 12 to 14 and from 17 to 19 h.\, in Callejón de San Ginés\, 3\, Toledo. \nMar Aragón was born in Motril (Granada)\, Spain in 1.971\, being recognized in 2019 with the Gold Medal of her city\, for her important national and international artistic career. \nHis work is made in large format watercolor\, which reaches up to 2 m.\, not common in this technique. It has a unique stamp with a wide and energetic palette that flows from black to polychrome. He makes use of the figurative and mimics the abstract\, offering us an optic of immense spaces and dreamed characters. \nHis work has been exhibited in the most prestigious International Art Fairs and Galleries around the world: Hong Kong\, Monaco\, Marbella\, Switzerland\, Italy\, France\, Luxembourg\, Asia\, or Madrid. It is part of the exhibition “Templarios”\, in which he shares space with works by Picasso\, Tapies or Joan Miró\, among other renowned artists. \nMar\, at the height of her professional career\, has been the guest artist at the International Watercolor Fair of Monza (Italy)\, the Biennale of Normanni (Italy)\, the Biennale of Contemporary Art of Beldevere di San Leucio (Italy). \nMar has been recognized by Art International Contemporary magazine as one of the 50 best artists to invest in art. Her works can be found in important collections such as those of the Mayor’s Office of Madrid\, Moét Chandon\, Hotel Don Pepe Marbella\, Casquero-Gherardi\, Ojos del Barroco or Johann Graf Novomatic Group. \nMar Aragón has developed in parallel her artistic career as an illustrator\, counting in her curriculum with such prestigious collaborations as the discographic work for Luis Santana\, the illustrated books of the Centro Artístico de Granada\, the different editions of the poster of the Festival Internacional Música Sur\, or painting live a large format work during the concert of Carlos de Jacoba and Luis de Rosario in Motril. \nIn the artist’s own words: “Art is the best bridge to bring us closer and to speak the same language that moves us”. \nThe exhibition is curated by Nuria Delgado\, director of Vesaniart Art Gallery. \nportfolio-22la-amante-mecánica22-mar-aragón-vesaniart-copia

DESCRIPTION:Street Art Brooklyn\, the new pictorial series by the Swiss-American artist and writer Kelly Fischer\, continues the research started years ago with previous Street Art series\, always having as muse\, the street art of New York City. \nIn this new series Street Art\, the artist has created more complex and subtle paintings\, although equally impressive; inviting the viewer to discover the artistic richness\, in this case\, of the New York neighborhood of Brooklyn\, a reference point of world art and residence of artists for decades. \nHer faceless characters are still present\, the family groups become more complex\, the color is attenuated\, but the artist’s energetic\, rich and sincere stroke is unmistakable; giving the series a very interesting vision as a whole and when compared to the preceding Street Art series

DESCRIPTION:VESANIART Art Gallery co-organizes together with the Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation\, the exhibition “Baja al Sur: Al-Andalus”\, from April 15 to May 21\, 2021\, in Seville. \nThe exhibition opened in Switzerland\, at the ICAM Institute of Arab and Mediterranean Culture in Geneva on 12 November 2020\, remaining until 19 January 2021. ICAM collaborates with the development of the exhibition in Spain together with the Vice President for Culture of the University of Malaga. \nThe Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation of Seville works for dialogue\, peace and tolerance among the peoples of the Mediterranean\, for the rapprochement between cultures; betting on art as a key tool for this. \nThe objective of the exhibition\, curated by Nuria Delgado director of VESANIART\, is to reflect through art on the richness of cultural mestizaje throughout history\, highlighting the Andalusian legacy in Spain. \nAl-Andalus whose footprint is still in force in Spain\, was a period of maximum splendor in the Iberian Peninsula and especially in Andalusia\, at the european forefront in science\, philosophy\, architecture\, literature and music among others. These 8 contemporary plastic artists thus reinterpret the Andalusian legacy with a look at the 21st century and various techniques: oil painting\, gouache\, acrylic\, Chinese ink\, watercolor\, charcoal\, digital photography intervened or sculpture in bronze and methacrylate. \nArt as a universal language\, dives into our history to get us excited again. \nThe exhibition project can be synthesized in the haiku of its commissioner: \nSouth as a heartbeat \nAl-Andalus as a memory \nArt as a verb

It is also an allusion to a historical time that represents the initial period of easy reconstruction\, proven techniques and learning. \nAt the same time\, it is political images\, alluding to the violence of everyday life\, which leads to the need for selfies\, images polished in the search for integration into a social context. \nThe paintings of the series ‘The Skin’ are sinister\, turning ugliness and violence into an aesthetic factor\, the result of the collage of several documentary portrait images. In the series ‘The Skin’ the ideal representation is overcome\, giving way to a carnival regime of representation of form\, of fusion of parts and territories\, where exaggeration\, satire and the strange are present. \n  \nLeonel Cunha has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Porto\, a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and a post-graduate degree in Multimedia Technology from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. He also has a Master’s degree in painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto. DESCRIPTION:DANIEL GARBADE CONVOCA A GOYA A LAS PLAYAS DE MÁLAGA \nSi estuviéramos en otra época\, diríamos que Daniel Garbade es un creador  renacentista\, pintor\, escultor\, dibujante\, fotógrafo\, decorador\, grabador\, ilustrador\, director de arte…

DESCRIPTION:VESANIART participates in the Festival of Malaga MaF 2019 with the exhibition POST SCRIPTUM by Maria Davila\, in the exhibition room of the Caja Blanca\, from February 21 to March 24. This project is articulated around the thin border between reality and representation. Under this premise\, we propose a pictorial project where it operates a continuous referential slide between painting\, cinema and theater\, in its common aspiration of mimesis and artifice. The unfolded nature of reality in the image and the image of reality serves as a point of inflection to trace these analogies through scenes and faces that invoke our gaze as if from the other side of a mirror. \nThe artistic work of María Dávila reflects on the determining influence of the photographic and filmic media in our way of seeing and interpreting the image and the world. Using painting in a constant dialogue with these other visual supports\, his intention is to rethink the limits between them\, as well as the transformations in the relationship that the image maintains with the notions of reality\, space and time. The result is articulated as well as a fragmentary set of images whose dialogue is open to the viewer’s interpretation. \n“The work of María Dávila is a rigorous and systematic study of the role and function of images within the framework of our visual culture. But it is also painting as a form of thought\, as conduct that does not renounce its traditional values and strategies of seduction and relationship with reality”. Pedro Osakar Olaiz. Professor of Painting at the University of Granada and Director of the thesis of María Dávila.
